The secret to a younger- looking you may not
lie in elaborate rituals, but in
simply sprucing up your daily routine
by Anubha Charan
Experts agree that what we do most frequently
and regularly - no matter how mundane - is key
to long-lasting good looks. By simply tweaking
our autopilot rituals, it's possible to make
dozens of skin-saving adjustments without adding
additional time to an already rushed day.
Simple skin
- 30-second skincare Can't be bothered with
a four-step, twice-a-day skincare routine?
Invest in multitasking products. They do three
jobs at once, so your skin will derive maximum
benefit from least effort. No time for exfoliators?
Switch to Shiseido's Purifying Cleansing Foam
that exfoliates as it cleanses, effectively
rinsing away make-up and dulling impurities;
or banish acne with Vichy's Normaderm Anti-Imperfection
Hydrating Care lotion, which clears the skin
while also delivering the benefits of a traditional
moisturiser.
- A time and A place for everything Experts
point out that one of the biggest mistakes
that we typically make is to use the right
moisturiser at the wrong time of day! Morning
moisturisers, for instance, are lighter in
texture and should ideally contain sunscreen,
which is wasted if they are used at bedtime.
Night creams are richer, and specifically
formulated for overnight repairs while skin
is at rest - they may not work as well during
the daytime. Take time over your choice of
a night cream too - it is while you sleep
that your skin's natural renewal process is
at its peak, so that your skin is then most
receptive to any intensive treatments. L'Oréal
Wrinkle Decrease or Elizabeth Arden Visible
Difference Refining Moisturiser Cream Complex
are some options.
- Sun control Consider this: It can take as
little as four minutes in peak summer sunshine
for sun damage to occur - destroying the collagen
and elastin fibres that keep our skin firm.
And it takes just a few seconds to substitute
your regular day cream with one that offers
sun protection as well (SPF15 or above). Try
Garnier Skin Naturals Light or Lakmé
Sunscreen Lotion to guard against wrinkles,
splotchiness, freckles, roughness and sagging
caused by the sun.
- acne woes Put aside your usual soap or body
wash, and stock up on cleansing products containing
salicylic acid instead to keep your skin spot-free.
Clearasil soaps and body washes give an ultra-deep
cleanse.
oinstant glow Dull and sluggish skin? Fake
a radiant complexion by substituting your
regular moisturiser with a product that increases
blood circulation in the top layers of your
skin, causing a slight flush. Clarin's Beauty
Flash Balm works wonders for most people.
- diy facial massage A quick massage works
wonders for your skin by stimulating the lymphatic
system and flushing out toxins. Mumbai-based
cosmetologist Dr Nirmala Shetty suggests a
five-minute massage that can easily be built
into your weekly cleansing routine: Warm a
bit of liquid cleanser (Clearasil or Pears
Face Wash are options) between your palms
and sweep out from the centre of your face
in circular movements, going up to your temples,
then down to the jaw, finishing at the cheeks.
Repeat five times.
oneck lines Extend your routine to the neck.
Unlike the face, it doesn't show pronounced
signs of ageing until too late; then lines
show up with no warning, almost overnight.
Body in focus
- nail indulgence You already know the best
time to moisturise your body is right after
a shower, but don't forget to nourish your
nails then too. Massage in cream while slightly
damp to lock in moisture. Your nails will
then become stronger and smoother.
- Sonic shower Get double benefit from your
shower while halving time spent. Oil-based
scrubs moisturise as they exfoliate, leaving
you not just clean, but glowing. Oily bits?
Alternate with a body wash for oily skin.
ofeet Make neglected feet presentable with
a festive shade of Maybelline Wet Shine or
L'Oréal Holograph Nail Enamel. They
dry fast and just one coat gives enough coverage
to hide a multitude of sins. In the bath,
spend a minute scrubbing and moisturising
well. Try Himalaya Herbals FootCare Cream.
- ban bad hair
patience Your hair must be soaking wet before
you shampoo. Don't just flash under the shower
- let it be drenched for a full minute. You'll
then need less shampoo and it will be much
easier on your hair.
- Straight and speedy
If blow-drying is out of question, get hair
straight and smooth with the right product.
Begin with a smoothing shampoo containing
silicones or shea butter, such as Pantene
Pro-V Smooth & Sleek, to lubricate your
hair and make the cuticles lie flat. Follow
with conditioner, then towel dry and comb
through a dollop of straightening cream or
serum to add shine and protect. TIGI's Control
Freak range and Paul Mitchell's Heat Seal
Styling Spray work well on all fronts.
- dry smartly Wrap hair in a super-absorbent
towel to soak water double-quick, so you need
less time with the hair-dryer. A strengthening
product (such as Garnier Fructis Fortifying
Shampoo) minimises breakage. Supplement with
an ionic blow-dryer - it minimises damage
by drying hair evenly, inside and out, rather
than scorching the cuticle, which is often
frayed by conventional hair-dryers.
- quick curls
The more you make your hair go against its
will, the more time you'll spend on it. Work
with your natural texture to save hassle.
Make the most of waves or curls, experts say,
with a medium-length cut; long hair can be
put in layers. Then all you need is a good
hairbrush and a curl-saver shampoo, such as
Wella System Professional's Curl Saver Shampoo,
for a glossy head.
- Preserve your colour
Substitute usual products with shampoo, conditioner
and gloss formulated for treated hair. They're
gentle and extra conditioning. Options: Wella
System Professional Color Saver Shampoo and
L'Oréal Professionnel's Techi Art range.
- maximum benefit Stimulate your scalp by
massaging it while shampooing. This breaks
down dirt and oil effectively, and allows
the products to penetrate deeper.
- brush up For shinier results post-shampoo,
give hair a brush before you shower. This
spreads natural oils from your scalp along
hair shafts so shampoo doesn't dry out ends.

Daily make-up tricks & treats
- mess-up-proof finish Sheer products and
glosses don't need precision. If you stick
to cream and gels you can rub on with a finger
- in neutral shades for eyes, and colours
to mimic your natural tones for cheeks and
lips - you won't need a mirror to touch up
your look.
- prep Prepare skin first with make-up primers
(not moisturiser). These specially formulated
products smoothe the skin and provide a base
for foundation. Try Fair & Lovely Perfect
Radiance Skin Satin Conditioner.
- multitask The line between cosmetics and
skincare has blurred today, declare experts.
Make the most of this phenomenon by using
an active foundation such as Nina Ricci White,
a brightening compact powder foundation with
SPF 20/PA++ that unifies, brightens and protects
skin from the environmental elements. Another
good bet is a moisturising lipstick, such
as Maybelline Moisture Whip - they usually
comprise upto 75 percent moisturisers and
conditioners; or try Lakmé Enrich Lipcolours
with Vitamin E and other emollients which
deliver rich, moisturised colour in one stroke.
- Faking it If you can't be doing with anything
but daily skincare on your face, you can still
benefit from skin-perfecting optical trickery.
If you've found the perfect foundation to
give traceless coverage but it lacks radiance,
mix it into a light-reflective product such
as Revlon Skinlights or Esteé Lauder
Spotlight Skintone Perfector. They fake instant
improvement with reflective particles to give
you a healthy-looking glow and lines that
look less pronounced.
Make that change!
- Identify the bad habit You may have started
without thinking and then simply continued
on autopilot. Here's a checklist: daily blow-drying,
over-zealous eyebrow threading, the trademark
lipstick, monotonous perfumes, and layers
of make-up.
oMake the change gradually If you obsess over
perfectly blow-dried hair every single day
of the week, try taking a break on weekends;
or if you feel incomplete without your make-up,
experiment by shedding the layers progressively
- until what feels naked at first starts to
feel perfectly comfortable.
- Get an unbiased review on the new you Get
a friend to assess the change. You may realise
that your hair looks far better when allowed
to fall in its natural curls; or that the
oiliness that you try to disguise with powder
is really a dewy natural glow envied by all
your friends.
Some more
- Weather and ageing: Remember that
you need to adjust your routine and, more
importantly, your choice of beauty products
according to the weather and your age. Summer,
for instance, may need a lighter moisturiser
or a more heavy-duty cleanser. And as we grow
older, the skin starts becoming drier. This
is the time to switch to denser emollient
creams, enriched with anti-ageing ingredients.
Build a gentle exfoliator into your weekly
regimen, and choose moisturisers with alpha
hydroxy acids (AHAs), which boost collagen
production and increase cell turnover.
- Weekend beauty: Set aside the weekend
bath as a special pampering time when you
treat yourself to pre-bath body and hair massages,
use an exfoliating body scrub or focus specifically
on the grooming of your hands and feet.
- For the soul: Spend five minutes
on meditation every day. Try increasing the
time slowly, particularly on days when you're
not rushed. Think of anything you like, but
focus on one aspect - it steadies the mind,
calms you and, in the long run, shows on your
face.

A liner is important because it creates a barrier
that stops lipstick from bleeding or feathering.
Here's how to get it right: 1. Apply lipstick
or gloss, then liner - it's easier to blend.
2. Apply liner on top of the first coat - use
a shade just slightly darker than the lipstick,
so you won't look like a circus clown when the
lipstick fades! 3. Blend liner and lipstick
together with your finger or a lip brush. Expert:

| Skin under stress
|
| Your make-up is
just perfect, but something's still not right
Is it your stressed skin? by Anubha Charan
Under stress, your body produces excessive amounts
of cortisol and testosterone, which in turn boost
oil production and lead to acne. These hormones
are stimulating, and they interfere with sleeping
patterns, hamper blood circulation, slow down
the lymphatic system
Result? Puffiness and
dark circles. Stress leads to blood flow being
redirected from the skin to other organs, hitting
the cell-renewal process and natural exfoliation,
and boosting cell-damaging free radicals. Dull
skin and premature ageing are fallouts. As a result
of stress, inflammatory peptides are released
that suppress the skin's immune system and increase
its sensitivity, exacerbating allergies and leading
to redness, blotchiness and itchiness, and finally
conditions such as eczema. Goaded by pressure,
you also tend to tighten your facial muscles,
making expression lines permanent. This could
result in micro-tears in the skin and damaging
of collagen. Stress affects permeability of skin
and delays wound healing as well. Dermatologists
suggest combining your skincare regimen with lifestyle
changes for best results. Here's what you can
start off with: Set aside at least 10 minutes
thrice a week. Sit in a silent, cool room scented
with lavender. On your skin, place thin slices
of any vegetable of your choice. Then imagine
stress, as a tangible element, ebbing out of each
limb, slowly... Some cleansers that can help:
Oriflame's Aloe Soft Scrub; Garnier Light Fairness
Face Wash; Fair & Lovely Cleanse & Lighten
Gentle Exfoliating Wash; Lakme's Deep Pore Cleansing
Milk. Follow with L'Oreal Paris Happy Derm Super-Hydrating
Skin Exhilarator Moisturiser; Forest Essentials
Blended Body Oil in Jasmine & Mogra or Christian
Dior Energy Move Skin Illuminating Moisturizer
for the body, and Lakmé's Skin Cooling
Gel and Avon Anew Line & Wrinkle Corrector
for facial worries. And Clarins Eye Revive Beauty
Flash Balm, Vichy Reti-C Eyes and Biotique's Seaweed
Gel are for your eyes, where stress shows up first.

"As a practicing physician for over fifty
years, I have reached three basic conclusions
as to the cause and cure of disease... The first
is that the primary cause of disease is not
germs. Rather, I believe that disease is caused
by a toxemia, which results in cellular impairment
and breakdown, thus paving the way for the multiplication
and onslaught of germs.
My second conclusion is that in almost all
cases the use of drugs in treating patients
is harmful. Drugs often cause serious side effects,
and sometimes even create new diseases. The
dubious benefits they afford the patient are
at best temporary. Yet the number of drugs on
the market increases geometrically every year
as each chemical firm develops its own variation
of the compounds. The physician is indeed rare
who can be completely aware of the potential
danger from the side effects of all of these
drugs.
My third conclusion is that disease can be cured
through the proper use of correct foods. This
statement may sound deceptively simple, but
I have arrived at it only after intensive study
of a highly complex subject: colloid and endocrine
chemistry."

| Why was she so
foggy? |
Vineeta blamed middle
age for her episodes of forgetfulness - they actually
turned out to be vitamin B12 deficiency. While
people associate this problem with strict vegetarianism
(meat and dairy being the vitamin's main sources),
Vineeta had a different condition: She'd developed
antibodies against a stomach chemical needed to
absorb B12. The absorption of vitamin B12 requires
an intrinsic factor from the stomach and it is
then absorbed only at a special site in the intestine.
In rare cases of absence of the intrinsic factor
in the stomach or disorders of absorption in the
intestine, deficiency of vitamin B12 may occur.
The cure: daily mega doses of B12 pills. Vineeta,
who - after three months - is happy to report
that her memory is back to normal. Food sources
of vitamin B12 include liver, kidney, meat, fish,
eggs, milk and cheese. Deficiency symptoms include
anaemia, neurological disorders and infertility,
but consult a doctor for an informed diagnosis.

| Got heartburn?
|
A sudden, sharp,
burning pain in the chest... Feels like an impending
heart attack. But it could be heartburn - small
amounts of stomach acid rising up the food pipe.
Treatments include: antacids (Gelusil, Digene)
that neutralise stomach acid; H2 blockers (Rantac,
Zinetac, Famocid, Topcid) that cut off acid producing
chemicals; proton pump inhibitors (Ocid, Pantodac,
Rabeloc) that turn acid-producing cell components
off; and lifestyle changes, which include avoiding
fatty and spicy foods, alcohol and cigarettes,
and reducing stress. If an OTC drug doesn't work
or you need it more than twice a week, see a doctor.

| The Root
Cause of Disease |
|
Accumulated Cholesterol & other deposits
in your blood vessels & arteries:
One in every two Americans, four Indians die
of heart complications. Lack of free blood flow
causes aches, pains, low sperm count, impotence,
high cholesterol, heart complications, strokes,
adult onset diabetes, obesity, and high blood
pressure just to name a few. Every single one
of these problems is a symptom of bad blood
flow, caused by cholesterol and fat blockage.
Your doctor's probably going to give you a
pill, but what you have to do is stop eating
foods that contain cholesterol. The number one
factor for heart disease is a high blood cholesterol.
The number one factor for high blood cholesterol
is high saturated fat. By far, the highest source
of saturated fat: Animal Foods! The vegetable
kingdom has absolutely NO cholesterol. By now,
you're probably thinking, are you asking me
to give up meat, chicken, fish, turkey, and
dairy foods? How about having your heart cut
out instead?

have the lowest rates of coronary heart disease
of any group in the country"

had a heart attack Average Cholesterol of Americans:

Undigested Waste
impacted in your colon (digestive tract) causing
ELIMINATION BLOCKAGE.
It may seem unrelated, but a compacted and
constipated colon is one of the absolute prime
beginnings of any disease. Why? If your bowel
stops functioning properly, than food, which
is your only source of vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients,
and many other imnportant nutrients cannot be
absorbed by the body. It literally gets packed
away and lost with all the other junk in the
colon. As a result, all the other organs and
parts of the body that survive from this nutrition
begin to break down. In addition, since the
colon can no longer remove harmful substances
from the body, it begins filtering down into
the kidney, gallbladder, and liver, which eventually
break down as well. But, before it can get to
those areas, the colon has already stopped working
properly.
So, an impacted colon means not assimilating
nutrients well which causes everything in your
body to begin breaking down. Then, realize that
all kinds of infections, unhealthy bacteria,
viruses, and worms that are fairly easily dealt
with in a clean system can flourish and multiply
by feeding off the waste in your colon (like
flies on a heap of garbage). It makes you tired,
sick and eventually causes serious disease.
If you can't eliminate well, you are on the
road to health problems.
What causes constipation and all other bowel
disorders? Constipation and colon problems are
caused by low fiber, high fat foods- you guessed
it, Animal Foods! The foods literally get packed
away and stored in one of the many pockets of
your 5-foot long large intestine.
Top
Toxemia, which
can poison your kidneys, liven and Gallbladder.
On a daily basis we ingest a heavy dose of
unhealthy chemicals, toxins, preservatives,
metals, antibiotics, hormones, genetically modified
organisms, and other harmful substances from
our air, food, and water supply. 90% of POPs
(Persistent Organic Pollutants) come from animal
foods, because these pollutants have the highest
concentration in fat cells- of which animal
foods are extremely high. These harmful substances
cannot be safely and effectively eliminated
from our bodies because of the blockage in our
colon (our elimination system) or our Kidney,
Liver, or Gallbladder. Our kidneys, liver, and
Gallbladder desperately attempt to filter out
all the bad stuff we ingest every day, but this
takes a heavy toll on their effectiveness. Not
everything gets eliminated and the toxins that
stay in our body get packed away, but eventually
get re-absorbed back into our blood stream making
us really sick. By ingesting all of these terrible
substances, primarily from Animal Foods and
tainted water, we get a whole set of other problems:
PMS problems because the hormones in milk and
our meat supply combine with the hormones in
women- prostate problems in men caused by high
amounts of hormones in milk and our meat supply
(just like the hormones make the cows grow,
they also make your prostate grow)- kidney/liver
diseases because of high amounts of toxins that
have to be dealt with on a daily basis- AND
a whole set of other carcinogenic and debilitating
effects that have been cataloged over and over
again by top medical journals and universities
around the world. It doesn't take a lot of common
sense to realize you should eat foods that are
clean and chemical free. That means buying your
foods ORGANICALLY!! That way, you will be avoiding
the thousands and thousands of chemicals, antibiotics,
hormones, pesticides, herbicides etc... (not
to mention Genetically Modified Food) that are
proven to make you sick and diseased.
Western Medicine:
How does it try to help?
Western Medicine prescribes harsh drugs and
antibiotics with very serious, and sometimes,
even deadly side-effects. The drugs are designed
to attack and alleviate the symptoms, but NEVER
the CAUSE of the illness. Instead they depress
and destroy the immune system, your body's natural
and incredibly powerful disease-fighting mechanism.
Surgeries are utilized as a last resort to take
out the offending organ, which is malfunctioning,
which again have very serious health ramifications.
It is our belief that this way of medicine is
incredibly backward. NO PILL OR SURGERY WILL
REMOVE TOXEMIA OR SUFFICIENTLY REMOVE BLOCKAGE
FOR A SUSTAINED PERIOD OF TIME!! Unless you
change your lifestyle, your eating habits will
bring you right back to disease!! But, if we
can remove those blockages, cleanse out the
toxins, boost your immune system, re-introduce
a healthy blood flow and get nutrients to the
affected areas, cells can regenerate and the
body's natural and powerful healing process
will take over. This is how to naturally, safely,
and effectively heal yourself of not only the
symptoms but the underlying cause of your illness!!
Stress... The Silent Killer: There is
another very cheap and critical way to get healthy.
It is imperative to deal with stress, the number
one immune depressing disease. If you do decide
to embark on a healing journey, don't bring
along all of your stressful baggage. Watch some
comedies, go walk around barefoot, watch a sunset,
take a deep breath, laugh a lot, tell some jokes,
do whatever you really love to do. It will do
just as much good for you as anything else.

| Healing Foods |
|
Organic Food:
All foods eaten should be pure; without having
been genetically modified or grown with the
use of pesticides, herbicides, hormones, antibiotics,
insecticides, etc
These chemicals, carcinogens,
and poisons are a significant cause of disease.
The nutrients in organic foods have also been
found to be much higher than the chemically
inferior conventional produce. Organic food
not only tastes better, it is better for the
land and animals. Check out local farmers markets
and natural food markets.
Vegan- A vegan diet does not contain
ANY animal foods at all (all meats including
fish, dairy, eggs, milk cheese, etc
) Vegan
foods contain NO cholesterol. Numerous scientific
and medical journals have conducted studies
that convincingly demonstrate that animal foods
are a significant contributing factor to ALL
degenerative diseases: cancer, heart disease,
osteoporosis, diabetes, arthritis, etc
Raw Food- Food that has been cooked
over 118 degrees Fahrenheit has destroyed ALL
digestive enzymes in the food. That means your
body will have a great deal of difficulty digesting
and assimilating the nutrients in the food.
The vitamins/minerals and other trace nutrients
are also greatly diminished in the cooking process.
Low enzyme count leads to low energy, degenerative
disease, and aging. Attempt to eat a much higher
quantity of fresh, raw fruits and vegetables.
Whole Food- There are trillions of species
on this planet, but only one alters their food
supply. That same species experiences a plethora
of degenerative disease unknown in other species.
Why? We eat foods that have been refined, processed,
and preserved with chemicals and food additives
in order to prolong their shelf life (Whole
wheat becomes white flour). Or how about partially
hydrogenated oils? Small particles of nickel
or copper are added and the mix is heated to
very high temperatures under pressure for up
to eight hours while hydrogen gas is injected.
This process destroys the essential fatty acids
in the oil and replaces them with deformed trans
fatty acids. This blocks or delays the work
of the essential fatty acids, creating deficiencies
and imbalance throughout the metabolism, including
fatty deposits in the arteries. Prolonging shelf
life makes big companies a lot more money and
may be a little easier for us, but is it worth
the heavy cost of degenerative disease? The
body simply cannot digest partial food, refined
and partially hydrogenated oils, or anything
else not in its natural, whole state. All of
the recommended foods below are in their whole
state. It's the way nature intended us to eat.
Top
Real Healthy Food:
The Superfoods- So named, because of
their incredibly rich nutrient content. These
foods are the richest sources of vitamins, minerals,
and trace elements on the planet! Spirulina
Blue-Green Algae, Chlorella, Cereal Grasses
(alfalfa, barley, wheat), Dulse Seaweed, Kelp,
Acerola Cherry.
Grains- Whole wheat, millet, barley,
rye, oats, quinoa, corn, buckwheat, bulgur,
and brown & wild rice among others. [Eating
Raw? Always soak nuts/seeds before consuming
to break down the enzyme inhibitors (nature's
defense mechanism of not being eaten before
they can sprout and grow) which interfere with
digestion. Soak in a bowl of distilled/purified
water for about 5-8 hours, depending on size.
Overnight is usually a good amount of time.
Remove and discard the grains that float as
they likely have some rancidity. Drain and rinse
well and then enjoy.
Vegetables- Kale, spinach, potatoes, yams, taro
, zucchini, carrot, squash, onion, broccoli,
cauliflower, dandelion greens, mustard greens,
parsley, beet, beet greens, celery, green/yellow/red
bell peppers, cayenne peppers, corn, cabbage,
wild lettuces, radishes, mushrooms, asparagus,
cucumber, eggplant, artichoke, chives, leeks,
green beans, turnip greens, etc
The Miracle Vegetable Broth- This is a must
in any healing, detoxifying program! It will
flush out toxins, poisons, and unhealthy salts/acids.
It will also give you a concentrated amount
of vitamins and minerals. Make a large pot and
keep refrigerated for up to one week. Use organic
produce only. Fill a large pot with:
25% potato peelings
25% carrot peelings and whole chopped beets
25% chopped onions
25% celery and dark greens
50 cloves of garlic (minimum)
Hot peppers to taste
Enough distilled water to cover vegetables.
Simmer on very low temperature for 2 - 4 hours.
Strain and refrigerate, drink only the broth.
Thus, this broth is incredibly alkalizing which
is vitally important to offset the acid imbalance
of the pH in our blood.
Fruits- olive, avocado, grape, raspberry,
blackberry, mango, honeydew, strawberry, apple,
blueberry, lemon, lime, pear, apricot, orange,
cherry, banana, cantaloupe, pineapple, grapefruit,
papaya, peach, prune, etc
Juices- Buy a Juicer... We're not talking
about diluted, pasteurized, preserved store
bought juice. We're talking about mixing your
own assortment of fresh, raw, organic vegetables
and fruit and juicing them yourself. Juicing
is an excellent means of adding raw fruits and
vegetables to your diet. Since more and more
healthful substances in fruit and vegetables
are being discovered all the time (i.e. phytochemicals-
the compounds that have been shown to prevent
and combat cancer), it is highly recommended
you consume 2-4 glasses of fresh juices. You'll
be getting easy to digest, concentrated nutrients
and enzymes which are a must for any healing
or preventative health program. You will be
amazed at how delicious they are and will also
feel an immediate boost of energy and vitality.
Always store left-over juice in tightly sealed
glass jars to avoid losing the valuable enzymes
to oxidation.
Legumes- Peas, lentils, and beans (kidney
, white, navy beans, garbanzo, pinto, black)
etc
[Eating Raw? Always soak nuts/seeds
before consuming to break down the enzyme inhibitors
(nature's defense mechanism of not being eaten
before they can sprout and grow) which interfere
with digestion. Soak in a bowl of distilled/purified
water for about 5-8 hours, depending on size.
Overnight is usually a good amount of time.
Remove and discard the legumes that float as
they likely have some rancidity. Drain and rinse
well and then enjoy.
Nuts/Seeds- Coconut, almonds, walnuts,
sesame, sunflower, pumpkin seeds, brazil nuts,
cashew, peanut, chestnut, etc
[Eating

Sprouted Seeds/Beans- Alfalfa, broccoli,
sunflower, radish, wheat, mung bean, lentil,
etc
[Greatly increases nutrient levels
(including enzymes), digestibility, and can
enhance flavor.]
Sprouting
- First soak as directed above.
- Then put drained seeds nuts, seeds, grains,
or legumes in any of the following:
- a colander
- -a natural fiber bag with good drainage
-a jar with a screen or natural fiber
loose weave fabric stretched
over the opening
-or any other container you can cover
loosely.
Note: Do not cover air-tight as the seeds will
mold.
- Rinse and rain at least twice a day for
1-3 days or until they have small sprouts
coming out of them.
- That's it!! Store sprouts in refrigerator
and enjoy. Continue to rinse once a day while
in the refrigerator (they will sprout at a
much slower rate). When they become too "sickly
sweet", they have sprouted too long and
can be discarded.

Natural Supplements:
GARLIC- (Raw and organic) Garlic is
the best, most effective broad spectrum anti-biotic,
anti-viral, anti-fungal herb known. In research,
it has been diluted to 1 part per 125,000 and
still killed bacteria. It is an extremely effective
and powerful broad-spectrum antibiotic, which
means it kills all types of bacteria on contact,
gram negative and gram positive. Garlic's use
has been proven to destroy many types of bacteria
including Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, Typhoid,
Diphtheria, Cholera, E. Coli, Bacterial Dysentery
(Traveler's Diarrhea), Tuberculosis, Tetanus,
Rheumatic bacteria, Bacillus cereus, bacillus
subtilis, Mycobacterium smegmatis, Streptomyces
griseus, Staphylococcus aureus, Lactobacillus
plantarum, Klebsiella, pneumoniae, and Xanthomonas
maltophilia and many others. Many doctors feel
it's the cure for the common cold. It destroys
various viruses that cause upper respiratory
infections and influenza, the ones that antibiotics
are useless against. Garlic destroys on contact,
the viral infections of Measles, Mumps, Mononucleosis,
Chicken Pox, Herpes Simplex #1 and #2, Herpes
Zoster, Viral Hepatitis, Scarlet Fever, Rabies,
and others. Blend 3-6 cloves in a blender
with some non-citrus fruit juice. - (R.
Naganawa, et al., "Inhibition of Micrbial
Growth by Ajoene, a Sulfur-containing Compund
Derived from Garlic," Appl Environ Microbiol,
62(11) November 1996, p.4238-4242.)
Apple Cider Vinegar- (Organic, raw,
unfiltered) Extremely beneficial for many different
maladies. Antibacterial/antifungal/antiviral.
Extremely good for eliminating mucous from the
body. Put1-3 capfuls in a glass of water or
mix in with salad dressing instead of vinegar.
Aloe Vera- (Organic) Aloe Vera (barbadensis
miller) contains over 20 minerals, all of which
are essential to the human body. The human body
requires 22 amino acids for good health -- eight
of which are called "essential" because
the body cannot fabricate them. Aloe Vera contains
all of these eight essential amino acids, and
11 of the 14 "secondary" amino acids.
Aloe Vera has Vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, B12, C
and E. Taken internally, it is known to aid
in healing stomach disorders, ulcers, constipation,
hemorrhoids, colitis, and all colon problems.
It is also helpful against infections, varicose
veins, skin cancer, arthritis, and has even
been an effective treatment with AIDS. Take
½ cup 1-3 times daily.
Essential Fatty Acids
Flax Seed and Flax Seed Oil (Organic, Unfiltered,
cold-pressed) Rich in the omega-3 essential
fatty acids, magnesium, potassium, and fiber.
Also a good source of fiber, zinc, B vitamins,
and protein. Contains No cholesterol, and low
in saturated fat.
Wheat Germ Oil- (Unrefined, cold pressed, organic
if possible) A very rich source of Vitamin E.
Primrose Oil- (Organic, unrefined, cold-pressed,
if possible) Also known as evening primrose
oil; contains the highest amount of gamma-linolenic
acid (GLA) of any food substance. This fatty
acid is known to help prevent hardening of the
arteries, heart disease, PMS, multiple sclerosis,
and high blood pressure. It relieves pain and
inflammation, enhances the release of sex hormones
(including estrogen and testosterone), lowers
cholesterol, and is beneficial for chirrhosis
of the liver.

| The Ultimate Weight Loss Program |
|
Healthy Weight
Loss
| Diets
don't work- it is that simple!! You force
yourself on a special food program to lose
weight and once you've achieved your weight
goal, you will go back to your old eating
habits and put the fat back on very quickly
plus some extra pounds, usually. Diets may
induce the body to lose weight in the short
term, but the body cannot sustain the hardship
of any diet for very long without VERY HARMFUL
consequences. You may be forcing your body
to lose weight by starving it, or perhaps,
by tricking it into losing weight at the
over-all expense of your health. |
 |
| So, people
go from fad diet to fad diet not only gaining
the weight back afterward, but then getting
the added trauma of some very serious health
problems. We're not just talking about the
proven danger of diet pills, but also very
popular fad diets which are too numerous
to list here. They are all aimed at one
thing: weight-loss at any cost! Learn to
understand the bigger picture: Over-all
health will bring about a natural transformation
inside and outside your body and this transformation
will last the rest of your life, as long
as you maintain a healthy lifestyle. |
So, with all the inaccurate information out
there, here are the most important steps you
can take to change your body once and for all...
keep in mind, you have probably NOT read anything
like this before, but everything that follows
should make perfect sense to you. If not, then
don't do it!
NOTICE: FIRST AND FOREMOST- DO NOT EXPECT TO
LOSE MORE THAN 1-3 POUNDS A WEEK. ANYTHING MORE
THAN THIS IS DANGEROUS AND INEFFECTIVE AS YOUR
BODY WILL GO INTO SURVIVAL MODE AND YOUR METABOLISM
WILL SHUT DOWN!! (YOU WILL GAIN BACK THE WEIGHT,
GUARANTEED!!) INSTEAD, LOSE 1-3 POUNDS A WEEK
AND YOUR BODY WILL HAPPILY RELINQUISH THE WEIGHT
WHILE KEEPING YOU HEALTHY.

Step 1: Clean Out The
Waste
Everyone says eat more fiber, but that's just
the tip of the iceberg. Are you aware the average
autopsied person has about 5-10lbs. of accumulated
waste inside their colons? Now, think about
this logically... How can you lose weight if
you don't go to the bathroom enough? You're
putting food in all the time, but it's not all
coming out!!! Unfortunately, Americans average
about 2-3 bowel movements a week, BUT YOU EAT
AT LEAST 2-3 TIMES A DAY!! Since you should
be going 2-3 times a day, that means you are
about 12-18 bowel movements short a week, 48-72
short a month, 576-864 short a year, or short
43,200-64,800 if you live to be 75. Now look,
unfortunately, eating a bran muffin every now
and then isn't going to get all this stuff out,
and until you do, it's going to be very difficult
to be healthy, let alone lose weight.
Think of your colon (bowel) like a long, curving
tunnel... The backed up food is like backed
up cars trying to get through a narrow, curving
space with no other way out. (Your colon is
5 and 1/2 feet long, folded over many times
and tightly fit into your stomach area.) The
cars start moving slower and slower until it
takes a few weeks or longer for even one car
to get out the other side? Now, imagine all
of the pollution inside of that tunnel which
is the equivalent to all the bacteria feeding
on the old waste, making you sick, lethargic,
and diseased. On top of that, realize that your
colon is responsible for assimilating nutrients.
How can it do this effectively with so much
congestion?? Think about it mathematically...
how can you lose weight if you're not getting
rid of the food you're putting into your body
regularly? Anyone can see this by taking a look
at some x-rays of even supposedly healthy people's
colons. Instead of a nice tube-like opening
for food to pass through, the colon is almost
closed off at certain points and twisted around
on itself badly. The food doesn't have much
of a chance to get through and so the colon
gets more and more impacted, causing all kinds
of health problems, including cellulose/fat
retention/weight gain.
By the way, if you're thin, you're definitely
NOT off the hook. You see, we seem to think
that just because you're thin, you must be healthy
and that is definitely not true. You still have
years and years of waste inside you and must
clean yourself out. It's just that you probably
eat a little better, a little less, and exercise
more, or are blessed with good genes (a fast
metabolism). However, you must also clean out
your colon to achieve any kind of true or lasting
health. You can bet it's only a matter of time
before you too start packing on some weight
or get really sick.
Has it ever occurred to you that we eat, inhale,
and drink toxic substances all day long? There's
fluoride, chlorine, bacteria, viruses and lead
and other poisonous metals in tap water... pesticides,
herbicides, insecticides (all fatal if ingested
directly in even minute quantities) in our crops,
over 75 different FDA unapproved antibiotics
in our meat supply...many different petro-chemicals
and poisons from cosmetics that enter our blood
stream through the skin...too many pollutants
to count in our air supply... and finally, the
enormous amount of chemical preservatives in
our packaged foods. Where's it all going? And
why don't we get really really sick when this
stuff gets in our bodies since most of these
substances would kill us immediately if they
were in our bloodstream. It's clearly not all
getting out based on the amount of times we
go to the bathroom. And so now, we can observe
the true intelligence of our bodies:
The toxins and poisons are tucked somewhat
safely away in the colon and some organs like
the liver, kidney, and gall bladder. This happens
over the course of many years until there is
too much waste and the toxins seep back into
the blood stream and we start to get really
sick "all of a sudden." But, in reality,
we have been sowing the seeds for sickness for
many many years!! Are you aware that colon cancer
is the #1 cancer killer among men and women
and that Merck Manual says that EVERY American
will get Diverticulitis (a disease of the colon)
if we live long enough? For more on this, please
read: SO, cleaning out the colon will do two
very important things for your body:
- Get you going to the bathroom regularly
so that when you eat, soon afterward, you
are pushing old stuff out to make room for
the new food.
- Get the really old stuff out that is packing
on the weight and causing all kinds of seemingly
unrelated health problems by causing a terrible
traffic jam in your intestines.

Step 2: Get Whole Food
Nutrition
While cleaning out your colon, it is absolutely
necessary to start feeding your body real nutrition.
Do you know why you get cravings? Your body
is not getting the proper nutrition and desperately
craves it! However, you misinterpret those cravings
for junk food! Once you start getting your body
the real nutrition it craves, you will no longer
crave the junk food you've been eating.
Now, you may think you're being healthy by
taking vitamin and mineral pills, but we ask
you to take a closer look. Vitamin and mineral
pills are typically made from animal bones,
stones, shells, pulverized ore, and even, activated
sewage sludge. How can your body possibly use
this stuff?? Look at the bottles themselves
and see if you can find out where the nutrients
originate from... If it doesn't say (which it
probably won't), then you can bet it is the
cheapest crap imaginable. The "vitamins" and
"minerals" are synthesized un-naturally by huge
manufacturing companies and then shipped out
to the various smaller companies who mix and
bottle your vitamin and mineral supplements.
If you can get all your nutrients from organic
fresh produce, great. Otherwise, get a top of
the line organic whole food supplement that
you can take in the morning with a little juice
and fruit. Get a juicer and start juicing as
many organic fruits and vegetables as you can
get your hands on... Again, this will help heal
you from the inside out, but also dramatically
speed up your metabolism and get your body many
nutrients immediately. We're talking about a
no-fat, no-cholesterol snack that will give
you a ton of energy as well as vitamins and
minerals to help you with those cravings. Also,
the juices will be packed with enzymes which
are also very important to helping you lose
weight. Enzymes are the catalyst for every chemical
reaction in your body. They break down foods
and help you digest everything. You can only
get enzymes from fermented and raw foods. Juices
are rich in enzymes, particularly papaya (papain)
and pineapple (bromelain) - powerful enzymes
which will dramatically help your digestion.
We will return to a more detailed food outline
at the end of the article.
Step 3: Exercise
You know, this isn't going to be a big surprise
for you, but the truth is that we have become
so sedentary; we don't even realize the extent
of it. But, what is the best way to exercise?
Well, the truth is that you should be doing
a mixture of aerobic and non-aerobic exercise
about 3-5 times a week for about 30 minutes
to an hour a session. Don't panic, it's not
that bad and you will immediately feel some
great benefits. For instance, exercise will
help regulate your hormonal levels which means
a much clearer and calmer mind and spirit. You
will be kick-starting your metabolism and pushing
out fat and cellulose. Let's take a closer look:
Now look, do what you can, but here we will
outline what seems to be the best possible workout
for weight loss:
- Start with a five minute light warm-up
by walking, biking, stair climbing, anything
to build the heart-rate up and get the blood
flowing to your muscles. This will dramatically
lessen the chance for injury.
- Then, stretch for about 3-5 minutes, especially
any trouble areas.
- Do about 20-30- minutes of non-aerobic
training (that means weight-lifting). This
can take the form of push-ups and pull-ups
or actual weight-training in a gym. If you
are new to this, find a good trainer to show
you some good exercises. Pick a set of muscle
groups and work on those each set day. Give
certain muscle groups a day to rest before
doing them again. (Back and Biceps work similar
groups of muscles- Chest, Triceps, and Shoulders
work similar groups of muscles). So, for example,
do back and biceps the same day, or back one
day, but then wait two days before doing biceps
etc...

Step 4: Drink Distilled
Water
As you may know, our bodies are comprised of
70% water. However, older people have approximately
40-50% water composition. 75% of Americans are
chronically dehydrated. In 37% of Americans,
the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often
mistaken for hunger. Even MILD dehydration will
slow down one's metabolism as much as 3%. One
glass of water shut down midnight hunger pangs
for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a
U-Washington study. Lack of water isthe #1 trigger
of daytime fatigue. Preliminary research indicates
that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly
ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.
A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy
short-term memory, trouble with basic math,
and difficulty focusing on the computer screen
or on a printed page. Drinking 5 glasses of
water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer
by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast
cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to
develop bladder cancer. We have a serious de-hydration
epidemic in our society. Drinking enough water
is one of the biggest health problems of our
time.
But, it's not enough to drink just water, you
have to drink clean water. Today's public tap
water is filled with Chlorine, Fluoride, bacteria,
viruses, heavy metals, contaminated chemicals,
and even radiation. Spring water has inorganic
minerals that your body cannot assimilate. Inorganic
minerals in the soil are absorbed by plants
and through a process called Biological Transmutation
are transformed into Organic minerals that animals
and human beings can use. Since Spring water
has inorganic minerals from rocks and the soil,
we cannot use it, and worse, it causes problems
because our bodies have a tough time getting
rid of them.
So, drink steam-distilled water as much as
possible. It is the cleanest water available
and much cheaper than spring water. You will
find the taste is clean, fresh and completely
different from the strange and odorous taste
of tap and spring water.
Now, what will drinking at least 8 8oz. glasses
of distilled water do for you:
You're not hungry, you're thirsty. People are
so over-dehydrated they don't even know it.
