Exotic Beaches of
the world
Golden, sun-swept beaches await you.
From Hawaii's majestic emerald
mountains and sapphire waters to the
sparkling, turquoise waves of Paradise
Island, the world's coastlines glisten.
These special gems — the best
around the globe — have caught
our eye over the years. |

Anse
Source d'Argent
SEYCHELLS is one of the most popular beaches
to be found on all the islands, with pink
sands offset by towering granite boulders
that have been worn by time and weather.
|
| The
ocean here is sheltered by a reef, providing
calm and shallow waters that make a perfect
playground for little ones. Most will find
it hard to tear themselves away from the
lovely seclusion of Anse Source d'Argent,
but the island is ripe for exploring, with
rows of beaches and craggy nooks.

Clifton
Beach- SA
At the northwest tip of South Africa's Cape
Peninsula lies the swanky coastal gem Clifton
Beach, a haven for international hipsters
and jet-setters. Clifton is actually a series
of four beaches, each separated by a stretch
of granite boulders. |
 |
| The
beach is sprawling and clean, reflecting
the brilliant African sunshine off white
sand and throngs of tanned bodies. A distinct
vibe is felt at Clifton, owing in part to
the mystique of Table Mountain, which looms
gorgeously in the beach's background, and
in part to the glamorous pulse of the surrounding
neighborhood. |

PINK
SANDS BAHAMAS
When many people think of the Bahamas, the
first thing that comes to mind is the stretch
of fancy resorts and casinos that line the
beaches of Nassau, Paradise Island and Cable
Beach. |
| Many
of the smaller islands of the Bahamas, like
Harbour Island, break that stereotype. Pink
Sands Beach is the place to go for natural
beauty, elegant resorts and most importantly,
three miles of perfectly pink sand and gentle
waters. The ocean is ideal for swimming
— warm throughout the year and generally
calm, protected from the rolling waves of
the Atlantic by a coral reef. The vibe is
laid-back, and around the island you will
find tourists mingling with the locals in
a relaxed and friendly small-town manner.
|

|
|
PARADISE
BEACH GREECE
In a small series of islands in the Aegean
Sea lies the tiny gem of Mykonos Island
— a dreamy destination for aspiring
Greek gods and goddesses. Mykonos is a wonderful
kaleidoscope of cosmopolitan shops, rocking
bars, quaint windmills,homey taverns |
 |
| and
hidden churches all set against a brilliant
blue backdrop. And it's not just the water
that sparkles in the sun on Mykonos, but
also the white marble streets and buildings
that characterize the island's architecture.
The beaches on the south shore of the island
are the most popular with fine sand and
water that is perfect for swimming. |

East
Hampton Beach- New York
Strolling along the broad stretches of white
sand, listening to roaring waves and passing
the glorious mansions of Lily Pond, it's
easy to forget that East Hampton is an extension
of New York City's Brooklyn and Queens. |

Maldives
Islands
Straddling the equator, the 1,102 islands
that make up the Maldives form 26 atolls,
or rings, of coral scattered over an area
of land 510 miles long and 75 miles wide.
The air of tranquility enveloping the archipelago
makes the Maldives the ideal place to escape
from the real world to a palm-fringed haze. |

Culebra
Island - Puerto Rico
This island, situated 20 miles (30 kilometers)
off the northeast coast, has beautiful beaches
and plenty of sun, but it's also an old
pirate hideout loaded with virtually undisturbed
treasures. |
| Not
to mention that in 1493 Christopher Columbus
dropped by this tropical oasis during his
second voyage, and in 1909 Theodore Roosevelt
declared Culebra one of America's first
wildlife refuges. |
| |
|
|
Negril,
Jamaica
Jamaican culture is friendly and interesting
- you will be rewarded if you venture out
to meet local residents. It is a stretch
of Seven miles of white sand in western
Jamaica. During the summer, the beach is
less-crowded and hotel rates are twenty
to forty percent |
 |
| lower
than in the winter. The October hurricane
season in the Caribbean typically has a
minimal effect on Jamaica. |
| |
|
|
 |
Phi
Phi Island - Thailand
Follow Thailand's long leg of land stretching
down to Malaysia and you'll find Phi Phi
Island to the west of the "knee" in the
Andaman Sea. |
| Technically,
Phi Phi is two islands: Ko Phi Phi Don,
where Long Beach, or Hat Yao in Thai, is
located, and Ko Phi Phi Leh, which is smaller
and only accessible by tour or chartered
fishing boat. |
| |
|
|
Kuta
Bali - Indonesia
Kuta, the most accessible, lively and commercialized
of Bali's southern beaches, is noted more
for surf than for swimming and more for
parties than for sunbathing. Kuta is a mere
2 miles from the airport, but traffic can
get heavy so allow plenty of leeway. |
 |
Unlike
most of South East Asia, Bali has its (relatively)
dry season between May and October, though
it's popular at any time of year. Indeed,
December and January are especially popular
with Australian 'summer' holiday-makers
despite the humidity and probability of
some downpours.
Kuta has the world's first 'Hard Rock Hotel'. |
| |
|
|
 |
Fraser
Island - Australia
Perched on the sunny Queensland coast 161
miles northeast of Brisbane, Fraser Island
is the world's largest sand island. But
this World Heritage Site has more to offer
than just sun and sand. |
| It's
an ecologist's dream, with 640 square miles
of unspoiled natural paradise. Rain forests
with 1,000-year-old trees sprout from the
sand, Australia's second-largest collection
of freshwater lakes dot the island and whales
frolic in the sheltered waters just off
the coast. The island is also teeming with
life — 230 species of birds and 25
species of mammals, including wallabies,
possums, flying foxes and Eastern Australia's
purest breed of dingo, roam the island. |

Beaches in Goa - India |
Calangute
Beach
Calangute lie on the shores of the Arabian
Sea of North Goa in India. Calangute seems
to be a distortion of the local vernacular
word -Koli-gutti, which means land of fishermen.
Some people connect it with Kalyangutti
(village of art) or Konvallo-ghott (strong
pit of the coconut tree) because the village
is full of coconut trees. The best time
of the year to visit this area is between
September and March. |
| |
|
|
 |
|
Colva
Beach
About 6 kms from Margao Colva beach
is the pride of Salcete and the only
rival to Calangute by its scenic splendour.
Here, sand, sea and sky blend in enchanting
natural harmony unspoilt by men. Has
good accommodation facilities, particularly
at the tourist cottages. It is the
pride of Salcete and the only rival
to Calangute in scenic splendor. On
the road into Colva from Margao you
pass the large Church of Our Lady
of Mercy |
|
| (Nossa
Senhora das Merces, 1630, re-built in the
18th century). The statue of Menino Jesus
housed here is said to have miraculous properties.
Colva is at heart of the longest unbroken
stretch of beach (25 kms) in Goa from Mormagao
peninsular in the north to Cabo de Rama
in the south. |
| |
|
|
DonaPaula Beach
7 kms from Panaji. An idyllic picturesque
spot. It is near the rocky point between
the Mandovi and the Zuari is Dona
Paula, a secluded bay with a fine
view of the Marmagao harbour. This
is an idyllic spot to relax and sunbathe.
Named after Dona Paula de Menezes,
this place is called the Lovers Paradise
due to a myth which has been attached
to this place. At the place where
two of Goa's famous rivers meet the
Arabian sea is the Dona Paula bay. |
 |
|
| |
|
|
 |
|
Miramar
Beach
Miramar (Caspar Dias) is 3 kms from
Panaji. A lovely golden beach of soft
sand girdled with palm trees facing
the blue Arabian Sea, is the nearest
to Panaji. It is one of the most popular
beaches. If you wish to watch the
sunset from Panaji then the best location
would be this beach, which is fifteen
minutes' walk along the riverfront
avenue called Dayanand Bandodker Marg.
It is not a safe beach to swim. There
is a strong undercurrent. |
|
| |
|
|
Arambol
Beach
Arambol Beach is 50 kms from Panaji.
A unique beach in the North Goa, is
both rocky and sandy beach and much
sought after. It has a sweet water
pond right on the shore. Arambol is
along the Goa border with its fresh
water lagoon. Beyond an idyllic, rocky-bottomed
cove, the trail emerges to a board
strip of soft white sand hemmed in
on both sides by steep cliffs. A small
fresh-water lake extends along the
bottom of the valley into a thick
jungle,just |

it. Fed by boiling hot springs, the lake
is lined with sulphurous mud, which, smeared
over the body, dries to form a surreal,
butter-coloured shell. |

Agonda
Beach
Agonda is about 37 kms. from Margao. It
is a small, picturesque and secluded
beach much sought after for its serenity. |

| Islands |
Hawaii:
What could possibly be more romantic than
a full moon as seen through palm fronds?
Moonlight reflecting off water maybe? Whatever
magic is employed, it's working. And it's
been working for as long as people in love
have been coming to Hawaii. |
 |

Hawaii is a chain of islands of changing
scenery, landscapes and climate zones.
From the white sand beaches and swaying
palm trees of her beautiful coastline...
to the lush tropical jungles and cascading
waterfalls of her verdant rainforest.
Hawaii's unequaled beauty will leave you
breathless. Air, sea, land...
The State of Hawaii is comprised of eight
major islands. Measuring from its submarine
base (3,280 fathoms) in the Hawaiian Trough
to the top of the mountain (13,796 feet),
Mauna Kea is the tallest mountain in the
world with a combined height of 33,476
feet.
The 2000 resident population for the State
of Hawaii was 1,211,537 persons, with
a de-facto population (including visitors)
of 1,334,023. (Between the 1980 and 2000
Census counts, Hawaii's population grew
25.6 percent).

Hawaii's Big
Island:
Nowhere else in the United States, much
less the world, is there a spot like Hawaii
Volcanoes National Park, and no visit to
the Big Island is really complete without
paying homage to Madame Pele, Hawaii's Goddess
of the volcano. This is a place of creation,
of life, of incredible force and energy,
yet it is not only accessible, it is designed
to accommodate, educate, and enthrall all
who enter the park.
According to Hawaiian legend, this is the
home of Pele, the Hawaiian Goddess of fire.
Pele's first home was Niihau, the oldest
island in the chain, but the goddess of
the sea chased Pele from island to island
until she finally came to rest in Halem'uma'u
Crater, in Kilauea Caldera, where she still
resides today. |

Moloka'i
With the possible exception of the island
of Lana'i, Moloka'i is the best bet in the
Islands for those who really want to get
away from it all. With a total population
of 7,200, the island offers wide open space
and a range of accommodations defined mainly
by geographic region. |
| |
|
|
West Moloka'i
or, more specifically, the northwestern
area of Kaluakoi
The island's resort area, with hotels and
condominiums, a championship golf course,
tennis, windsurfing, snorkeling and beautiful

|
Lana'i
Hawai'i's "Most Secluded Island"
is the perfect spot for an idyllic Hawaiian
vacation. The island's 3,200 residents live

town that features quaint plantation-style
buildings, several general stores, a small
theater, an art gallery, a library, golfing
and dining. |
